Most recurve hunters wouldn’t take a shot at more than 30 yards. The effective range depends on the bow, but it’s usually somewhere around 40 yards. The farthest recorded distance a modern recurve bow has shot an arrow is 1,336 yards, but that isn’t accounting for accuracy. Make sure you read up before making your first purchase.
